Diet, Fasten and Alli??
I went to the doctor today and prescribed me fasten. I am 20 yrs old 5′5 and 275 lbs. I needed to do something… He also told me to pick up the Alli starter kit and use it in conjunction w/the fasten. I know all the horrible side effects of Alli and do not wish to here them. U just have to do what the directions say and have a very very low cal and low fat intake (like 15gr fat a meal and 1100 cal a day). I know all that.
But really how does this work, has anyone else tried it?? I have not picked up the Alli yet. I wanted to know what else there was. I am excersizing and drinking plenty of water.
Should I use them both at the same time?? I figure that since my Doctor is telling me to, I should do it..Ahhh Please help.

However, I’m a FANATIC about understanding metabolism and Weightloss as I was overweight in school and lost weight as a young teen (almost impossible right?)
Anyways, I recommend that you get information about how many calories are actually being burned by your exercise.
Have you ever been on a treadmill and used the calorie feature and it said you only burned like 80 calories? and you thought it was broken?
Well its true, exercising is not effective in losing weight—it is only effective in keeping the weight off.
Water??? YES
In your body, the method of “breaking down fat” is REAL, its not just a marketing campaign.
Fat is a large molecule, which is broken into smaller molecules through a process called HYDROLYSIS.
Hydrolysis = hydration = dehydration
The root word is water
YES YES YES drink lots of water. For your size, I recommend drinking above the “8 cups of 8 ounces” of water per day.
I used to drink a 64 ounce water over a period of a couple hours right before lunch (and this fills you up, if you drink that much water and then eat a 300 calorie meal, you will actually feel full)
and one 64 ounce water before dinner.
Also here is the calorie breakdown
fat = 9 calories per gram
carb = 4 calories per gram
protein = 4 calories per gram
This info is on most food labels–you’d be surprised!!!
Also they are INTERCHANGEABLE.

a 300 calorie meal of 10 grams of fat, 27 grams of carbs and 26 grams of protein.
The only difference which matters to you, is the “fullness” that you will feel after eating.
The rule of thumb is that fiber (which is 0 calories per gram) fills you up “for free”.
Fiber is good at making you feel full, and its free. There is no downside to consuming fiber (just dont go extreme, to prove me wrong).
I do recommend Alli, because it will help you lose more weight.
But the most important thing that I recommend is DO NOT EXERCISE UNTIL YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR GOAL AND WISH TO KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF.
