If drink No Explode for Pre Workout Drink and Muscle Milk Chocolate shake after workout, is that a good idea?
I ‘ m 6′3, 174. i work out everyday, (P90x in the morning and sometimes work out in the gym at night.) i play basketball a lot. My question is will this give me a lot of muscle mass. more than jsut taking muscle milk after work out? and is it safe?
Excellent question! Good for you for doing your research. I’ll give you a few facts, then you can decide …
NO Explode is good for vasodilation, the process of exciting the nerve endings in the vascularity, opening veins wider so that more nutrients can get to the muscle during activity. Just to give you an idea of the many uses for Nitric Oxide, it is the key to Viagra, which causes vasodilation, and hence erection. If you have concerns that you will not be able to produce energy enough to complete a workout, then this is fine. Otherwise, your body has more than enough natural nitric oxide to get through a workout. You honestly want to wear out fast so that your body is forced to compensate with development of your metabolic and cardiovascular delivery systems. If anything, this would be a post-workout recovery tool, but that’s just my opinion, and taking it at the beginning would actually get it to your system towards the end anyway due to digestion.
Muscle Milk … this is where I get a little leery. These supplements are for people who cannot eat enough regular food to support athletic endeavor; it boasts BCAAs (branch chain amino acids), but do you know where they get these? Whey, which is a product of milk. These are just milk proteins. Medium chain triglycerides, vitamins — all that you get from what you eat, anyway, but it provides a massive psychological boost to the athlete to think they are the level to need supplementation.
Looking at your stats, I would say long and thin works for you and to your advantage. Of the three standard body types, you are the least likely to gain tremendous amounts of lean muscle mass without God’s intervention or steroids.
