Is it true if the body only receives no food and water re-use excess fat for energy? If this is not the case could you say what the body if the water is all consuming? AND THIS IS FOR A CLASS OF HEALTH PROJECT.
No, contrary to popular belief, does not work in reducing fat effectively, you will lose full weight of muscle mass. You will Lose Fat, but most of your Weight Loss will be muscle mass. When you eat at any place below 1200 calories or a huge deficit in their daily maintenance requirements (or, in terms of your project, simply nothing at all) and is eating normally again to gain weight. His body will be in what is called "starvation mode", ie it will delay your metabolism to conserve fat stores, thinking that is the lack of food. This is a technique that the body uses to sustain life. Once you return to eating normally a slow metabolism make you gain weight quickly. If you did not change back there would be no health consequences.
