Graves Disease ?????
I have been diagnosed with Graves' disease …. can anyone share their story or information? Some FYI on it …. Graves is an autoimmune disease …. basically is a severe form of hyperthyroidism that my body produces so much of the thyroid hormone causing my body out of control. Some symptoms are trembling from head to toe …… Weight Loss, hair loss, fatigue and I have experienced and still experiencing many of these sypmtoms. I'm tired of being sick and tired …..
I was diagnosed with GD about 6 weeks. I started with extreme hunger, then a loss of 20 pounds of weight, fatigue, 3-5 bowel movements a day, palpitations, mood swings, and so another woman. As soon as I realized a change that went to the doctor immediately. I have none of bulging eyes or skin problems. Immediately started taking PTU and propranolol. I've been on my medication in the last 6 weeks and just starting to notice a decrease in my symptoms. Although many people say GD is a "good news" disease, I do not see it at all. I'm anger that I am now subject to a life of drugs and see an endocrinologist. I have that genetic factors, so I have no idea why only managed. I've been very diligent with my medications and see my alcohol intake since the PTU causes a lot of liver damage. I've been reading articles about possible causes including high iodine intake, aspartame intake, high intake of soy products. Also, do not know when you go to the dentist, you can not have novocaine? Containing epinephrine, which exacerbates the symptoms. Good luck with your prognosis. Really do not know how it feels to be sick and tired of everything.
