Can I Loose Weight by eating 1200 calories a day without exercising?

I’m aiming to loose 23lbs but I have something wrong with my kneecaps so I can’t exercise. Will I still be able to lose weight by eating 1200 calories a day? I checked my BMI and I’m at a risk of being obese. Thanks to all the sensible answers!

let me tell u how i lost weight. i went on a 1000 Calorie Diet, seriously i had to count calories and make sure i was eating healthy and my vitamins. But exercise was a big part of my diet. I am now on a 1400 calorie diet, and i have not gained any weight. And i am exercising moderately. like 3 times a week,
my advice for u is….if ur motivated enough…..cut down on ur calorie intake, but do it to the point where you can still enjoy food. try including many fruits and vegetables in your diet and lots of nonfat dairy products like milk and yogurts. Stay away from fried foods, and eat lots of veggies and lean meats. Try to stay away from red meat. the choices you make are important, construct a diet you are happy with. include your favorite foods so you do not deprove yourself. but count the calories….if ur not sure how many calories are in sumthin estimate and add some, it always has more calories than u expect.
about exercise, try working on abs, crunches, sit ups. If you have fat around your abdomin, that is what you will want to get rid of first, this fat comes with many health risks. Swimming is great exercise.
Good luck…..i think u should start with a 1400 calorie diet for now, and include atleast 15 minutes of abdominal exercise each day.
