Is evening primrose pills safe to use?
IM taking evening primrose for depression and my symptoms have lessening drastically!! I was just wondering if there are any bad side effects.

Evening Primrose is a medicinal herb that some people take to relieve premenstrual syndrome (symptoms s.c. as irritability, depression, headaches, breast tenderness and bloating). Evening Primrose is originally indigenous to North America. First imported to Italy, its popularity with Horticulturists saw its cultivation and spread throughout Europe and Asia. It can now be found growing naturally along rivers, roadsides, and in fields It is a hardy plant that can grow in almost any soil condition but prefers sandy sunny locations. This biennial grows up to 4 feet high. It has many oblong irregular leaves that grow low to the ground and a long angular stalk with axillary branches near the top. The stalk does not appear until the plants 2nd year of growth. Later leaves, 3- 5 inches long and over 1 inch wide, are grown near the top of the stalk and its branches. These leaves are covered with short, fine hairs. The root is edible, fibrous, yellow colored on the outside and white within. It begins to flower in the month of June and will continue to flower all through to late autumn. The flowers propagate along the stalk and branches with the b.d. located on the top and open flowers below. The flowers have yellow obovate petals and a lovely fragrance. They open in the early evenings. The fruit of the Evening Primrose is approximately 0.25 inches to 0.5 inches long with dark colored irregular shaped seeds.
