Vegetarian going Vegan. Will this help with Weight Loss?
I need to lose weight for health reasons. I also want to go vegan for animal reasons. I have been a veggie for 15 years, will going vegan help me lose weight?
Ideas? Experience?
Actually it can. By cutting out the fat that you eat in milk, cheese, and eggs you can reduce your weight. But you have to maintain a Healthy Diet. The book Skinny Bitch is very helpful in that department. It is full of good tips and tricks.
I know that one great way to eating less is drinking a glass of water before you eat. Once you do that eat your meal VERY SLOWLY. Put your fork down between bites and take a sip of water. Eventually it will become a habit. Instead of eating a big breakfast just eat a couple of pieces of fruit. It digests more easily. Don’t eat unless you are hungry and I mean really hungry. I digress.
But yeah going vegan will help you lose weight there are a ton of testimonials on Peta somewhere. I’ve recently decided to go Vegan after being a vegetarian for two years and I’m just amazed at all the stuff that I just won’t eat anymore because it has milk and/or eggs in eat. Going to the Supermarket is a joy now because I can avoid so many bad for you foods.
Plus you shouldn’t eat white flour or refined sugar (they use charred bones in the refining process GROSS). Instead use natural sweeteners like stevia (natural no calorie sweetener that has fiber and is pretty good for you), blue agave syrup, natural maple syrup none of that Mrs. Butterworth crap. Whole wheat four is the way too go. No more butter, Earth Balance spread is better, no cream cheese Tofutti is better. There are so many things that you cancel out of your life! It’s great!
